I completed the readings and published a blog post with my notes.
1. Crane and the Crab
The crab was smarter than the crane but the crane got what was coming for him.
2. Crocodile and Monkey
The monkey is a lot like the crab because he is cunning and was able to use another animals stupidity to save their own lives.
The little short synopsis show how the two stories I picked were similar in storyline. The crane and the crab is a story that shows how it is not good to do bad and deceive others. The crane tricks all the fish in the dry pond that he will help them but instead kills and eats all the fish. However, the crane trips up by allowing the crab to ride on the cranes neck and it backfires because the crab gets the last laugh by making his way to the lush and beautiful pond. The crocodile tries to do the same to the monkey by saying he will carry him across the water only to turn back on him and take him under water to kill him. However, the monkey thinks outside the box and says that his heart is up in a tree and the monkey's heart is why the crocodile wanted to kill him. The crocodile allows him to get back on land and now knows that he has been tricked back as the monkey tells him he is a fool for allowing him to live. Both of these stories are about people trying to deceive others but it ends up backfiring in the end and I would like to do my story about this later in the week. I think this will be a topic that everyone can relate to and see how it is bad to trick others for your own personal gain because it can backfire on you in the end.
