Growth Mindset Blog

My sophomore year in high school a couple of teachers were really big on growth mindset and incorporating growth mindset questions in their test. My pre-calculus class always had at least one question in each test or quiz that was considered to be much harder and challenging then all the rest. They would either be questions based on future chapters or just a little more advanced than the practice questions in the reviews. I was always a big fan of the more challenging questions because I loved the challenge of finding the right answer. The best way for me to concur the growth mindset questions was to practice and challenge my friends in the class with me. I have always felt that if others are helping and pushing you to do better than you will grow more than if you were just by yourself. I play golf and I always feel more accomplished with a round whenever I play with others and shoot the lowest in the group than if I were to just play by myself. I love the challenge of others because they push me to get better. I also believe that learning from others and finding ways that they do things can help broaden your knowledge of certain things. I know for myself that I want to continue to have a growth mindset whenever I am doing anything whether that be in my golf or in my school work. While I feel like I have learned a lot about growth mindset I am excited to find new ways to push myself to be better at everything I do.
